With our base of operations in the south of the Netherlands, we can provide broadcasters with ENG facilities at home and abroad quickly and efficiently. Our people are available around the clock to realise special stories. Besides cameramen, we also have skilled reporters and camjos in-house. All sets are equipped with an XDCAM or FX9 camera, Sachtler tripod, multiple microphones, audio transmitters, LED panel and editing laptop. Our cameramen and reporters can edit independently. Optionally, we provide a LiveU for transmission of (live) video from any location. Our producers are available 24/7 to get a camera crew on location quickly, when it matters most.

TEAMS

At Orange Media, we pride ourselves on our expert team that selects the right camera for every job. Whether it's our standard XDCAM camera systems or specialist equipment such as drones, our team will provide the best solution. Moreover, our sets are equipped with every conceivable lighting and sound equipment, so our team can always work under the best conditions. At Orange Media, we have the appropriate camera for every job. All sets are equipped with a Sachtler tripod, multiple microphones, audio transmitters and LED panel. In addition, the ENG cars are equipped with all the tools to make the filming day run as smoothly as possible.

CAMERA SETS

Our ENG crew works daily for various news and current affairs programmes. Besides filming, these camera operators can also edit independently, pilot a drone and be a sparring partner for the reporter. All (ENG) camera operators at Orange Media have the papers to take the most beautiful shots from the air with a drone. There are endless applications, for example: event coverage, sports matches, concerts and major news events.

DNG DIGITAL NEWS GATHERING

The DNG van is the solution for on-site montages, setting up a live connection and/or multicam up to 8 cameras. Our equipment uses cellular bonding (Mobile Viewpoint WMT or LiveU) for video transmission. In addition, this bus is equipped with a STARLINK connection. STARLINK is a satellite internet system from SpaceX, which delivers global internet through a network of low-orbit satellites. This technology provides high speeds and low latency, making our live connections more stable and less dependent on local networks. This allows us to guarantee optimal connections for video transmission at almost any location.

SAFETY

In the news, you increasingly read about journalists and cameramen becoming targets of violence. At Orange Media, we think it is important to prepare our people for such situations. Several of Orange Media's camera operators attended Hostile Environment Awareness Training at the School for Peacekeeping Missions. The NVJ Academy and the Royal Netherlands Army organise this 3-day training course for journalists planning to travel to conflict areas. At Orange Media, we know better than anyone that when it comes to journalistic productions, preparation is key. Thus, all our cars are equipped with fire extinguishers, an extensive first aid kit and eye-wash bottles. We also use NIJ III bullet-proof vests for high-risk assignments.

LiveU

Portable WMT and LiveU encoders are used daily by global broadcasters for news teams. Easy live streaming with a lightweight, robust mobile backpack. Units can be rented separately or in combination with our services. When the 4G and 5G networks are at risk of overloading, we can create a reliable and interference-free internet connection via satellite. Besides the television application, this technology also offers a solution for events in urban areas or remote locations. For example, box office systems, guest WiFi and crisis communication can all use a dish. The technology works without a data limit and is not tied to a geographical area or country borders. With our live drone, it is possible to broadcast live images from the sky. This technique works without image compression or delay. There are endless applications, for example: event coverage, sports matches, concerts and major news events.

POSTPRODUCTION

Several editing rooms are available at Orange Media's office. In these rooms, our own productions, such as television programmes and documentaries, are edited. We also often host journalists from current affairs programmes who make and send their edits here in the south.

It is also possible to have full post-production (colour and audio) done. For the best results, we work with a state-of-the-art package of post-production facilities. Our editors have years of editing experience in numerous media productions. Renting the editing rooms by the day is also an option.

MOTARD

For dynamic shots at sporting events, we have an engine with live connection. This facility can be used to bring a camera operator or reporter as close to the action as possible. A connection can be established for radio or television. It is also possible to book the motorbike for a report (without connection). We use a BMW 1250 RT for this work; a powerful motorbike on which someone can sit comfortably out of the wind on the back.
